Product Overview
One of the challenges of using the Seoul Acriche AC LED is dimmer compatibility. Inexpensive triac
dimmers are very common and the consumer has an expectation of seeing the Acriche based
fixture or lamp being compatible with the common dimmer. Incandescent bulb dimmers use a
simple semiconductor circuit to dim these purely resistive loads. A non-linear load like an Acriche
creates a behavior within the circuit of the dimmer that is unfavorable to properly dim these LEDs.
Many times the dimmer can only provide only 75% power, even at full-on position.
The 9005 DimRight? from LUXdrive solves this problem with ease and yet retains the driverless
simplicity and reliability that makes the Acriche an attractive solution. By connecting the 9005
DimRight? module in parallel with one or more Acriche LEDs, proper dimming of Acriche LEDs
throughout the entire range of its useful output is a reality.
No modifications to the premise wiring or dimmer is required. The module can easily be added to
existing product designs and uses less than 1/2W. This eliminates the need for expensive and
sophisticated circuitry to compensate for non-linear loads like LEDs. The 9005 DimRight? allows for
a nearly continuous utilization of AC power and increases the power factor of the system.
Only one module is needed to correctly dim any number of Acriche LED arrays connected in parallel.
