DESCRIPTION:
This 16-bit buffer/driver is built using advanced dual metal CMOS
technology.The LVC16241A is designed specifically to improve both the
performance and density of 3-state memory address drivers, clock drivers,
and bus-oriented receivers and transmitters. This device can be used as
four 4-bit buffers, two 8-bit buffers, or one 16-bit buffer, and provides true
outputs and complementary output-enable (OE and OE) inputs.
To ensure the high impedance state during power up or power down,
OE should be tied to VCC through a pullup resistor; the minimum value of
the resistor is determined by the current-sinking capability of the driver. OE
should be tied to GND through a pulldown resistor; the minimum value of
the resistor is determined by the current-sourcing capability of the driver.
All pins of this 16-bit buffer/driver can be driven from either 3.3V or 5V
devices. This feature allows the use of this device as a translator in a mixed
3.3V/5V supply system.
The LVC16241A has been designed with a ±24mA output driver. This
driver is capable of driving a moderate to heavy load while maintaining
speed performance.
