In the technique in which the S-meter AC component is detected directly the noise amplifier gain is determined by
R2 and the internal 30 kΩ resistance as shown in Figure 5. A certain degree of filtering characteristics can be
provided with capacitor C1.

In the technique of Figure 4, in which multipath is detected using the S-meter high area components, and In the
technique of Figure 3, in which the NC HPF noise is detected, the noise amplifier gain is determined by R2 and the
internal 30 kΩ resistance as shown in Figure 6. The frequency characteristics of the circuit are determined by the
capacitor C1.
