MAX5432 Evaluation Kit
Note: The first 7 bits shown are the address. The Y bit
in Table 4 is the I 2 C read/write bit. The I 2 C protocol
states that this bit is a 1 for a read operation or a 0 for a
write operation. The Y bit is always set to 0 (write only)
because these digital potentiometers do not transmit
data to the master device (no readback).

The MAX5432 EV kit provides an option to configure
the MAX5432 as a potentiometer, a variable resistor,

The MAX5432 EV kit can also evaluate the
MAX5432META, MAX5433LETA, or the MAX5433META.
Remove the MAX5432LETA IC (U1) and replace it with
the desired IC. The MAX5432META, MAX5433LETA,
and MAX5433META ICs are pin and functional compati-
ble with the MAX5432LETA IC. Refer to the
MAX5432/MAX5433 IC data sheet for a complete
description of part-to-part differences.
