The Macrodens PKF series is a family of true
component level on-board power modules with
18-36, 36-75 or 18-75 V dc input voltages and
1,500 V dc isolation.
With the introduction of the PKF-B versions
using synchronous rectification, the PKF series now
delivers up to 5 A in the same unique package while
retaining the excellent thermal performance.
Utilization of thick-film technology and a high
degree of silicon integration has made it possible to
achieve more than 560 years of MTBF.
The high reliability and very low height of these
DC/DC power modules make them particularly
suited for use in distributed power architecture
(DPA) in Telecom and Datacom applications, with
board spacing down to 15 mm or 0.6 inch.
With a thermal design optimized for free
convection cooling, these power modules are ideal as
distributed power sources in decentralized power
systems.
The PKF series is designed to meet an operational
ambient temperature range in compliance with
present and future application needs, including
environments without temperature control.
The mechanical design offers the choice of
through-hole or surface mount technology, delivered
in trays, ready-to-use tubes or tape-and-reel packages.
