PT7709
The PT7709 is the next genera-
tion “Big Hammer” series of high-
performance, 20 Amp Integrated
Switching Regulators (ISRs), which is
made available in Power Trends’
standard 27-pin SIP package. The
PT7709 improves on the popular
PT7705 series with up to 20A cur-
rent capability and short circuit
protection.
The PT7709 series series is suit-
able for new 5V system designs that
require power for the latest high-
speed, low-voltage Ps, and bus
drivers.
The PT7709 output can be easily
programmed from 1.3V to 3.5V with
a 5 bit input, that is compatible with
the Intel Pentium Processor.
A differential remote sense is provided
to compensates for any voltage drop
between the ISR and load.
Only 330F of output capacitance
are required for proper operation.

Output Capacitors: The PT7709 series requires a minimum ouput capacitance of 330F for proper operation.
Input Filter: An input filter is optional for most applications. The input inductor must be sized to handle 20ADC with a typical value of 1H. The input capacitance must
be rated for a minimum of 2.6Arms of ripple current. For transient or dynamic load applications, additional capacitance may be required.
