s DESCRIPTION
SED1356F0A is a low cost, low power, color/grayscale LCD/CRT/TV controller interfacing to a wide range of CPUs and
LCDs. The SED1356F0A architecture is designed to meet the requirements of embedded markets such as Office Automa-
tion equipment, and Mobile Communications products where Windows CE may serve as a primary operating system.
SED1356F0A supports LCD interfaces with data widths up to 16-bits. Using Frame Rate Modulation (FRM), up to 16
shades of gray can be displayed on monochrome LCD panels. Using a combination of FRM and Dithering up to 64K colors
can be displayed on passive LCD panels, active matrix TFT/TFD LCD panels, CRT and TV. An embedded RAMDAC
provides support for both direct CRT or TV output and allows simultaneous display of either CRT and LCD, or TV and
LCD. A 16-bit memory interface supports up to 2M bytes of FPM-DRAM or EDO-DRAM. Supports flexible operating
voltages from 2.7V to 5.5V.
