1. INTRODUCTION
Insertion Tool 1490583--1 is designed to insert a
0.8mm AMPMODU Micro Interconnect contact into a
housing. Read these instructions thoroughly before
attempting to insert a contact.

2. DESCRIPTION
The insertion tool is made of stainless steel and is
similar to a pair of tweezers. See Figure 1. The tool
grips the wire when inserting the contact into the
housing.

3. USING THE TOOL (Figure 2)
1. Using the tip of the insertion tool, grip the wire
directly behind the contact.
2. Holding the wire and contact securely with the
insertion tool, insert the contact into the
appropriate contact cavity. Continue to push the
contact until the locking latch snaps into place.
4. TOOL REPLACEMENT

The insertion tool is not repairable and should be
replaced when it is worn or damaged.
