optimisedbyincludingagroundplaneinthePCBareaunder
theDC/DCregulator.Thisapproachwillreturnswitching
noisetogroundasdirectlyaspossible,withimprovements
tobothemissionandsusceptibility.
Operating Information
AllPMC4000SeriesDC/DCregulatorshaveapositivere-
motesensepinthatcanbeusedtocompensateformoder-
ateamountsofresistanceinthedistributionsystemandal-
lowforvoltageregulationattheloadorotherselectedpoint.
Theremotesenselinewillcarryverylittlecurrentanddoes
notneedalargecrosssectionalarea.However,thesense
lineonthePCBshouldbelocatedclosetoagroundtraceor
groundplane.Theremotesensecircuitrywillcompensatefor
upto10%voltagedropbetweenthesensevoltageandthe
voltageattheoutputpinsfromVOnom.Iftheremotesenseis
notneededthesensepinshouldbeleftopen.
