4. RapidConfigure Interface
The MSX532 can be configured by using the
RapidConfigure interface or the JTAG interface.
Both methods allow the user to configure the switch
matrix, IOBs and the control registers. The user can
select the configuration interface via the RCE pin.
The fastest method is through the proprietary
RapidConfigure interface. This parallel interface
consists of 28 dedicated pins that allow connections
to be made in as little as 12ns. It is also possible to do
a “clear all connections” function to remove all
switch matrix connections from a single port. To
clear all the connections in the array, it can be done
through JTAG or RapidConfigure instruction or by
issuing a hardware or software reset.
The 28 pins are allocated as follows:
RCA[0:9] = RapidConfigure Address A
RCB[0:9] = RapidConfigure Address B
RCC[0:3] = RapidConfigure Variable C
RCI[0:1] = RapidConfigure Instruction Bits
RC_EN
= RapidConfigure Cycle Enable
RC_CLK = RapidConfigure Clock

Figure 4.

5. JTAG Interface
The dedicated JTAG TAP interface is designed in
compliance with the IEEE-1149.1. The standard
interface has five pins (TDO, TMS, TDI, TRST, and
TCK) which allow Boundary Scan Testing as well as
device configuration and verification.
