Functional Description
TLE7719-T (SatRICTM) is a highly integrated interface IC specially designed for
automotive airbag applications.
The device, located in the ECU (Electronic Central Unit) of the airbag system, is able to
receive data from different types of intelligent sensors like front-crash, pre-crash, side-
crash or rear-crash sensors. It provides a pre-regulated power supply voltage to the
satellites over a twisted pair of wires (one twisted pair supplies one satellite module). The
satellite module transmits digital data to TLE7719-T by modulating the line current.
TLE7719-T (SatRICTM) is able to handle the following protocols:

The type of the protocol is selected by SPI-command separately for channel pairs #1,2
and #3,4.
Due to an adaptive threshold mechanism, TLE7719-T can handle a wide range of
satellite module idle currents. The current modulated signal is sampled and filtered by
the device to maintain a low level of transmission error in the presence of noise e.g. cross
coupling between the satellites.
The data received by the channel is stored into a channel specific, SPI accessible
satellite data register (SDR). Each of these registers can be accessed independently, in
pairs (limited to 8bit mode) or by using the Burst Read functionality that allows to read
out the hole register set (all SDRs + satellite status info) within one single extended SPI
cycle.
