Link Pulse Transmission
The Intel LXT908 Universal 3.3 V 10BASE-T and AUI Transceiver transmits standard link
pulses which meet the 10BASE-T specifications. Figure 7 shows the link integrity pulse timing.
2.1.10
Link Integrity Test Function
Transceiver Link Integrity test function. The link integrity test is used to determine the status of the
receive side twisted-pair cable. Link integrity testing is enabled when pin 8 (LI) is tied High. When
enabled, the receiver recognizes link integrity pulses which are transmitted in the absence of
receive traffic.
