Subsequent writes occurring to this register by the PCI Master
prior to a local processor read can set new bits in the register.
Any bits previously set cannot be cleared by new writes. A local
processor read can only clear bits in this register.

FAIL-SAFE TIMER COUNT: Read this register to obtain the cur-
rent value of the fail-safe timer. Default is 8400h.
FAIL-SAFE TIMER VALUE: Write this register to set the value
for the fail-safe timer. The default value is 8400h. The timer has
a 30ns resolution (PCI clock).
The timer is loaded when an
access is initiated on the local bus and counts down until the
access is completed. It will time out if it reaches 0. For test pur-
poses, the failsafe timer can be loaded and decremented via fail
safe timer load write and decrement operations generated
through REG7.
DISCARD TIMER REGISTER: Read this register to obtain the
current value of the DISCARD TIMER. Default is 0000h.
DISCARD TIMER VALUE: Write this register to set the value to
be used for the discard timer. The default value is 0. The timer
has a 30ns resolution (PCI clock). The timer is loaded on the
completion of a local bus read. The discard timer will then count
up. If the PCI retry has not occurred by the time that bit 15
becomes a 1, the timer stops and the data is discarded. For test
purposes, the discard timer can be loaded and incremented via
discard timer load and increment operations generated through
REG7.
