PCB Layout Recommendations
1. Orientmodulesoairflowisparallelalongtheheaderstrips(pins).
2. Placede-couplingand/orfiltercomponentsasclosetomodulepinsaspossible.
3. DonotplaceanycomponentsdirectlybeneaththemoduleonthetopsideofthehostPCB.
4. Ensurethatonlycleanandwell-regulatedpowerissuppliedtothemodule.
5. Isolatepowerandgroundinputstothemodulefromnoisysources.
6. Providepowerandgroundconnectionsthrougha0.050”widetrace(minimum)using1-oz.Cuorequivalentcopperfeature
(i.e.internalplane,copperareafill,etc.).
7. Keepmodulesignalsawayfromsensitiveornoisyanaloganddigitalcircuitry.
8. Avoidsplitgroundplanesashigh-frequencyreturncurrentsmaybeaffected.
9. Allowextraspacingbetweentracesofhigh-frequencyinputsandoutputs.
10. Keepalltracesasshortaspossible-avoidmeanderingtracepaths.
11. AvoidroutingsignalsdirectlybeneaththemoduleonthetopsideofthehostPCB.
12. Ifpossible,provideacopperareadirectlybeneaththemoduleonthetopsideofthehostPCB.Connectthiscopperareato
ground.
13. ItisrecommendedthattheconnectionsoftheJTAG,VPPandVPNpinsberoutedtopads,preferablyinaSILpatternasshown
inFigure12below.Itisrecommendedtouse0.1”centertocenterspacing.
