The operation is explained when control is transited to the sleep or stop mode or
a stop request occurs during operation of the 8-/16-bit timer/counter.
T Operation when control transited to sub clock mode, standby mode or when stop request
occurs
Figure 7.10 shows the state of the counter value in effect when control is transited to the sleep/stop
mode or a stop request occurs during operation of the interval timer function or the counter function
(when timer 1 working). When control is transited to the stop mode, the counter retains the value and
stops. When the stop mode is canceled by an external interrupt, the counter starts operating starting with
the retained value. Consequently, the initial interval time and external clock count value do not become
the correct values. After the stop mode is canceled, always re-initialize the 8-/16-bit timer/counter. Also,
when the counter is stopped (T1STP = 1), the counter also retains the value and stops. But, when the
operation is continued after this (T1STP = 0), the counter is cleared and resumes operation.

*: When the pin state specifying bit of the standby control register (STBC: SPL) is 1, and the TO pin is not pulled-up
(option), theTO pin in the Stop mode becomes high impedance.
When the SPL bit is 0, the value that was valid just
before control was transferred to the Stop mode is retained.
