Single-Read Cycle with Repeat-Start Condition – The steps in a
single-read cycle with a repeat-start condition, Figure 3.4, are:
Step 1.
The master starts the cycle by issuing a start condition.
Step 2.
The master transmits the 7-bit slave address.
Step 3.
The master sets the R/W bit to 0, to indicate a write cycle.
Step 4.
The addressed slave acknowledges the reception of the slave
address by driving SDA LOW in the ACK cycle.
Step 5.
The master sends the 8-bit address.
Step 6.
The addressed slave acknowledges reception of the address by
driving SDA LOW in the ACK cycle.
Step 7.
The master issues a repeat start condition.
Step 8.
The master transmits the 7-bit slave address.
Step 9.
The master sets the R/W bit to 1, to indicate a read cycle.
Step 10. The addressed slave acknowledges the reception of the slave
address by driving SDA LOW in the ACK cycle.
Step 11. The slave starts transmitting the data.
