(4) Port 9 function control register (PFC9)
Caution
Port 9 pins cannot be used as port pins or other alternate-function pins if even one of the A0
to A15 pins is used in the separate bus mode. After setting the PFC9 and PFCE9 registers to
0000H, therefore, set all 16 bits of the PMC9 register to FFFFH at once. If even one of the A0
to A15 pins is not used in the separate bus mode, port 9 pins can be used as port pins or
other alternate-function pins.

2. The PFC9 register can be read or written in 16-bit units.
However, when using the higher 8 bits of the PFC9 register as the PFC9H register and the
lower 8 bits as the PFC9L register, PFC9 can be read or written in 8-bit or 1-bit units.
3. To read/write bits 8 to 15 of the PFC9 register in 8-bit or 1-bit units, specify them as bits 0 to 7
of the PFC9H register.
