Host Interface Description
The PCI Bus interface is the communication highway for PC drivers and applications to communicate with RipTide Audio,
Modem (including Modem DSP), and Digital Joystick functions.
The RipTide Controller implements three PCI functions within one physical device: Audio, Modem and Joystick.
The Audio Function interface consists of target mode I/O mapped registers (including legacy audio related registers),
master mode DMA functions and master mode I/O and memory read write functions under the control of the on-chip
processor.
The Modem Function interface consists of target mode memory mapped registers and master mode DMA functions
under the control of the on-chip processor. The modem DMA channels are under the direct control of the host
processor.
The Joystick Function interface consists of three memory mapped target mode registers.
Configuration of these functions is through PCI Configuration cycles.

PCI Configuration Space
The PCI Configuration Space is shown in Table 16. Default power-up values prior to loading from the PnP EEPROM are
shown in parentheses. Registers marked with XXXX-E have power-on default values which may be modified by the use of an
external serial EEPROM. These values include Vendor ID, Device ID, Subsystem ID, and Subsystem Device ID. For
unimplemented or reserved registers, the values in parentheses are hardwired.
Each function conforms to the PCI configuration specification with default values or values programmed by the hardware
state machine after it has read a resource ROM at power up.
