17 Plug and Play Serial EEPROM
The serial PnP EEPROM is accessible to host software, making it programmable in the system. This interface is intended to
be used only to initialize the EEPROM and should not be used during normal operation. A supplied software utility, the
RipTide EEROM Configuration Editor, can generate and load information into the PnP EEPROM in order initialize PnP
parameters such as Vendor ID, Device ID, Subsystem Vendor ID, and Subsystem Device ID.
The serial EEPROM interface meets the timing requirements of an Atmel AT93C46, Microchip Technology, Inc. 93LC46B, or
equivalent 1K bit (64 x 16) device. Below is a table showing the signals used by the on-board EEPROM device and the
information supplied to it via the Controller.
