When the A/V interface begins operation, it starts to clock out PES video
and PES audio when the respective request line is asserted and there is
data in the Transport Buffers. The audio and video valid lines allow mul-
tiplexing the data from the two FIFOs into a single data port. Only when
the associated valid line is active should the audio or video decoder clock
data in.
Special-purpose logic handles error messages embedded in the PES
data stream. When an error message is detected, it instructs the Output
Control Unit (OCU) to generate an error indication to the external A/V
decoder. This is done using the AVERR signal. Such error messages can
be generated during packet-lost conditions.
Figure 2.51 shows the physical connection between L64007 device and
the L64002 device.
