Register Files in
Groups 0-3
This section describes the AMRFs in Groups 0-3, which are responsible
for controlling the operation of cyclic buffers for PID indexes 0 through 31
and the adaptation eld buffer. The cyclic buffers for PID Index 30 and
PID Index 31 (Groups 1 and 2) are devoted to storing PES audio and
video streams, respectively; therefore, they vary slightly from those of the
other PIDs. The registers associated with the audio and video channels
are available only when the extended channel buffer mode for is set for
a particular buffer.
Group 3 also includes an AMRF set that can be programmed similarly to
those in Groups 1 and 2; this set, however, is used for the adaptation
elds of all PIDs.
The following formula gives the hexadecimal address of each AMRF in
Groups 0 through 2:
Address(R, N) = base address + (0x10)
N + R
where the base address = 0xFFC08, N = PID number in hex (0x0
through 0x1F), and R = AMRF number as dened in Table 4.2 for each
group of registers. For the address of each MMU register in Group 3, let
N = 61 (0x3D).

Note the following caveats when reading from, or writing to, the AMRFs:
Write operations to AMRFs for which R > 1 are acknowledged, but
no actual writes occur.
Write operations to AMRFs for which R = 0 update the WAR and
LAR/RAR.
